Dell 3100CN toner cartridges see 1 answer

The printer requested new toner about 18 months ago. I have since purchased 2 (pricey!) black toner cartidges direct from Dell, neither of which cured the problem, even though it was requesting black. I am loathe to spend over £100 for a set of new cartridges with no guaantee of whether it will cure the problem, particularly when a new laser printer (different make) would only cost about £30 more. When it worked, it was a great piece of kit! Do you know of any of your customers who have had a similar problem? Are there any cheaper versions of toner cartridge that could be tried first?

  • I am very sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced with your printer. If you have tried two different cartridges and the printer is still advising that you need to change the cartridge, it is possible that this is a fault with the printer. As they are genuine Dell toners, it might be worth speaking to Dell about the issues you have experienced. If the cartridges are faulty, Dell should be able to replace them for you, or if it is a problem with the printer they may be able to advise further.

shelf life see 1 answer

As all cartridges would not require replacing at same time, what is the 'shelf life' of the boxed toner, as purchasing the pack of 4 could be 'false economy'

  • We do not recommend storing toner cartridges for more than 12 months.
