I have a Photosmart Plus series - B209a printer. I am VERY confused about the black XL cartridge. I have always purchased a Photosmart 364XL code CB321EE ABB (2012 07). Which is a one inch diameter cartridge. The printer indicates that this is the size cartridge that it requires and I have had no problems. NOW I am having problems acquiring this cartridge. Everyone says 'there is a newer model'. The code for the 'newer' cartridge is CN684EE ABB (2012 12). This is a 1/2 inch diameter cartridge and does not fit my printer. Can someone help me? Regards Kathy see 1 answer

  • It is correct that HP have replaced the old HP 364XL (CB321EE) with a new, smaller version with the code CN684EE. It still contains more ink than the standard HP 364 cartridge, so it is still a high capacity version. HP have produced this to completely replace the old cartridge in all of their printers, so it should fit without any problems. It is now slightly bigger than the standard black cartridge and should either fit in the centre or to the side of the black slot. If you are still having problems installing this item you may wish to contact HP for further assistance.

I need a HP364 SET UP cartridge see 1 answer

I recently bought a new HP Photosmart printer and with it asked for a new additional set of inks. I have now tried to fit the replacement black ink which is smaller than the original set up ink, which will not fit in the original black ink space. Have I been sold the wrong replacement ink or am I fitting it incorrectly? Thankyou for any advice you can give. see 1 answer

  • HP have recently replaced the HP 364XL black cartridge with a smaller version, with the code CN684EE. Although this cartridge is smaller than the original it has been designed to replace the larger version in all printers. If you would like to advise your printer model and the code of the cartridge you have received I will be able to check if you have received the correct item.

I dont live near so unable to take a close look at the cartridge. Can you advise which one it is?? Thanks

Photosmart B109n Colour Ink Cartridges see 1 answer

I am trying in vain to obtain a replacement BLACK cartridge for a HP Photosmart B109n The black cartridge on my printer is twice the size of the other and the aperture is much bigger, When I have sent for repalcements it is the same size as the other three and will not fit. The locting "T" on the rear of the cartridge is upside down compared with CYM. Replacements also have a camera logo on the label where my original one is just plain. On the printer the slots are marked Magenta (Square) Cyan (Triangle) Yellow (Circle) and Black (Pentagon) Can you help please, this is driving me crazy?
  • The black cartridges with a picture of a Camera are the Photo Black cartridges. These are not intended for use within the HP Photosmart B109n.

The standard XL black cartridge is the Genuine High Capacity Black HP 364XL Ink Cartridge - (CN684EE).

HP Photosmart C6380 black ink see 1 answer

In the printer there are 5 ink cartridges - the last one is a wider black one. Do you no longer supply it? The aperture and space is too big for a 'normal' one to fit it. Could you please advise.
  • We do sell the Cartridge that you require, however HP have now changed the shape and size of the Cartridge.

So when you do go to install it, it make look like it will not fit in to the slot as the slot may appear too wide. the Cartridge will fit in to this slot.

Ink Cartridges for B110 All-In-One see 1 answer

How can I know when ink cartridges are running out?
  • Your printer should report the remaining ink levels when you are printing. Your printer should also report a warning message when the ink is running low. You should find instructions on how to view remaining ink levels in your printer manual.

I have just received from you a black 364XL cartridge (placed on the right of the cartridge cradle)but I also need a 364 black "photo" cartridge(placed on the left) and which is showing as empty. The latter has the word "setup" on it together with the image of a camera. How is this latter one described for ordering?
  • The cartridge you require is known as the Genuine Photo Black HP 364. It is available as the standard capacity cartridge which has the code CB317EE and the high capacity cartridge which has the code CB322EE.

which is which see 1 answer

In my C310a there are two black cartidges on the left a standard external size one and on the right a fat job. OK; how do I know which is which when ordering replacements?
  • The C310A printer takes two different Black Cartridges, the standard Black Cartridge and the photo Black Cartridge.

Each cartridge have a different symbol.

The Standard Black Cartridge has a symbol in the shape of a pentagon, this should match up with the symbol in the correct slot.

The Photo Black Cartridge has a symbol in the shape of an egg timer, this will also be shown on the correct slot.

HP 364XL recycled ink cartridges see 1 answer

Are your recycled ink cartridges compatible with the ink level recognition system in the printer. A lot of sites I have looked at say that the ink level will not be recognised by the printer by using compatible or recycled cartridges and that I'd have to check ink levels in the catridges manually.
  • Unfortunately it is common for some re-manufactured cartridges to not register the ink levels in the printer. We do find that this does not cause to much of an inconvenience for our customers due to saving that can be made purchasing re-manufactured cartridges.

can i use hp 564 ink cartridges in my hp photosmart b110a all in one wireless printer
  • The cartridges that we stock on our website are designed for UK printers only and will only work if your printer was purchased in the UK. The cartridges that we recommend for this printer are the HP 364 or HP 364XL cartridges. Please see the link below to our website for further information:

    http://www.cartridgesave.co.uk/ink-cartridges/HP/Photosmart-B110a-Wireless-e-All-In-One.html

If your printer was purchased outside of the UK and you have used the HP 564 cartridge before, it is likely that you will need to buy this item instead. If you are not sure which cartridges will work in your printer, I would recommend checking the codes on your old cartridges.

HP colour ink cartridges for Photosmart Premium All in One see 1 answer

Do these HP cartridges include the print head being replaced as on older HP printers or is the print head now in the printer?
  • Printers which use the 364 cartridge have the print head built into the printer. As far as I am aware you can not purchase these separately.

colour ink cartridges see 1 answer

Not getting good print results with my cartridges ? black ink cartridge empty - one which says photo
  • I am very sorry to hear that you have experienced a problem with your cartridges. Is it just the black cartridge you are having a problem with or the other colours? If you are experiencing quality issues I would recommend running a cleaning cycle on your printer, this will remove any dried ink that is blocking the contacts and can improve the quality of your prints. If you are getting error messages on the cartridges, I would recommend removing the cartridges and wiping the chip on the back with a dry cloth.
If you are still having problems you will need to contact the supplier of the cartridges and hopefully they will be able to help further.

Photosmart Premium all in one C310a series see 1 answer

I tried to pring a photo last night and the print was all wishy washyu and unclear upon which I did a ink cartridge review to check the levels. It was showing the black cartridge empty on the left hand side which on label said photo. I would just like to check that I hav located the correct cartridge which is a photo black ink at £8.33. Could you inform me if this is the correct cartidge as the other black cartridge on the right hand side (the larger one) I presume is for printing in black only.
  • Your printer requires two different black cartridges. The photo black that you require is currently priced at £8.33 excluding VAT. If your printer is advising that the photo black cartridge is empty then this is the cartridge you will need to replace and hopefully this should resolve the quality issues you have been experiencing. Black cartridge compatability see 1 answer

Have a HP B110a printer. Purchased bundles of four inks in the past and all fit. Some weeks ago bought a standard black cartridge as spare back-up (sorry, from Amazon). Now it is neesed find it will not fit. New cartridge labelled 364 plus number 2013/03 Problem seems to be T shaped lug at rear of cartridge upside down and smaller than the one it replaced. The old cartridge is labelled 364 2013/05. Now faced with not knowing what to ask for. Purchased a pack of colour cartridges ( 364 ) from you recentally and they fit. Please advise so that I can continue printing. Amazon have been useless
  • I am very sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced with your cartridges. It sounds like you may have received a photo black cartridge from Amazon. Some printers in this range (like yours) take four cartridges all HP 364, however some of the printers take an extra black cartridge called a photo black HP 364, which will not fit in your printer. You can tell the difference between the cartridges by the symbol on the top of the cartridge, the standard black that you need has a symbol of a pentagon, whereas the photo black has two triangles on the top. To see the full list of cartridges that we recommend for your printer, then please see the link below to our website:

HP309a black inks see 1 answer

I need to replace the normal black ink cartridge ( hp364) as the it has completely run out. I generally only print in black and I have still a little of the 3 colours left. I dont print photos at all so there is still some ink in that one too. Is it better to replace them all or just buy the black one I need. Sorry if this sounds a stupid question but I dont want to buy what I dont need. Thanks
  • It works out cheaper in the long run to purchase the multi packs as there is a discount applied to their price. However, if you are a light user you may find that purchasing them on an As and when basis is the best option as we do not recommend that you store these items for too long.

ink for p photosmart b209a see 1 answer

have bought hp364xl - photo why won't htis work- doesn't fit cartidge case
  • HP have brought out a series of Photosmart printers that use the 364XL cartridges, all of the printers take four standard cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) but a small number of the printers have five slots and take an extra black cartridge, the photo black, which is not compatible with the other printers. According to our system, the HP PhotoSmart Plus B209a is not compatible with the photo black cartridge and you can only use the standard HP 364 or HP 364XL cartridge in this printer. HP B110a ink cartridges see 1 answer

I have read your answers to other questions and you do say that one only has to replace the cartridge that has run out, not all of them. Could you please tell me how I can identify which cartridge/s it is that has run out? Thank you.
  • There should be two ways of checking the ink levels in your printer, this should show the levels remaining and if any of the cartridges need replacing. The first way to check the ink level is using the HP Photosmart Software. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click
Printer Toolbox, then click on the Estimated Ink Level tab.
You should also be able to check the levels from the printer display by pressing the Settings button on the home screen. In the Setup Menu, press the right arrow to highlight Tools and press OK to display the estimated ink level information.

There is full information on checking and replacing the cartridges in your printer manual, which can be found on the following page of HP's website:

ink cartridges not lasting see 1 answer

I have a HP photosmart C309G It is forever needing the ink cartridges changed, and I get nowhere near the amount of pages that I should. Can there be something simple that I am doing or not doing to cause this?
  • Using the 364XL cartridges may work out more cost effective if you use your printer a lot.

The stated yields are based on 5% coverage of an A4 sheet. This is a very small amount of print. Printing any more that this will significantly reduce the amount of pages these cartridges will produce.
