How do wax stick printers work?

How do those sticks end up on the page?
Wax stick printers use solid sticks of wax - one for each printing colour - cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The ink is heated up in print heads where it melts and so can be sprayed through tiny print heads onto a heated drum. The drum then transfers the ink onto the paper. Solid ink printers can print onto a variety of surfaces due to their technology. Pages have a raised feel as the wax ink sits on the surfce of the page. The pages also are sensitive to heat as the wax may melt if, for example, the pages are fead into a laminator.
