What are Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for?
What is a Safety Data Sheet, and what are they used for?A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a document containing information on the chemical content of a particular product, and safety information such as safe handling, and what to do when you come into contact with a particular chemical contained in the product. Safety Data Sheets are known in the US as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) but their composition is very similar.
Safety Data Sheets are a useful reference when compiling COSHH assessments for your company.
