What is a MOPIER?
Ever wondered what a MOPIER printer is?MOPIER comes from Multiple Optical coPIER. This is a term Hewlett Packard (HP) used when they started promoting the idea that instead of printing a document once and then photocopying it, they should just print it multiple times on their high-volume HP laser printer. Of course this was great for HP since they made more money at the expense of the photocopier people. This way of thinking predated the widespread use of the digital networked photocopier which brought traditional the printer manufacturers into the photocopier market, and turned the Photocopier industry upside down. HP wanted you to multi-print your documents using their printers so much they released a screensaver called MOPy Fish which is a virtual pet screensaver where you get more points for each print you make from your HP printer!
