  • I need cartridges for a Canon MG5250 printer. Do your cartridges have the full quantity of ink, I think it's usually 13ml?

    Canon MG5250 ink capacities

I have checked this for you and the CLI-526 cartridges contain 9ml of ink and the PGI-525BK cartridge contains 19ml.

  • What's the difference between "premium" and "genuine" cartridges? (e.g. are premium cartridges refilled ones and with the same amount of ink as the genuine cartridges?)

    Canon Pixma MG5250 cartridges

The premium brand Canon MG5250 inks are recycled ink cartridges which have not been made by Canon, whereas, if it says 'genuine' next to the cartridge this confirms that the item has been made by Canon. Both types of cartridges contain the same amount of ink.

  • For my Pixma MG5250 printer the reference of the cartridge for the machine is ' PGBK525'. Are they available or have I bought an out of date machine?

    MG5250 ink cartridge compatibility

Yes, this cartridge is available. Your printer requires two different black cartridges, the CLI-526BK and the PGI-525PGBK. These are both available for purchase on our website. Please see the link below for the genuine black Canon PGI-525PGBK ink cartridge:

  • I've just bought a Pixma MG5250. Have Canon stopped producing a grey cartridge, permanently or temporarily?

    Grey cartridge for Pixma MG5250

As per the Canon website, we don't list a grey cartridge as being compatible with the Canon Pixma MG5250 inkjet printer. Please ensure that your printer can use a grey cartridge before attempting to order this type of ink.

  • Hi, I'm thinking of buying the Canon Pixma MG5250 but I don't really print lots of photos. I'm interested in knowing how much it will cost per document for black and white, and for colour. Can you help? Thanks, Iain.

Pixma MG5250 ink yields and cost-per-page

If you don't intend to print a lot of photos you may be best considering a different printer as the Canon Pixma MG5250 is an all-in-one photo printer. However, it's difficult to give you a cost per document as this will depend on how much ink you use on each document. For example, our ink yields for the Pixma MG5250 are based on printing at 5% coverage of an A4 page or 5% coverage of a 10 x 15cm photo. Therefore, if you're printing full pages of text or lots of graphics then the quoted page yield will be significantly reduced. We can only give you the cost-per-page/photo as stated on our website which are based on the ink yields quoted on the official Canon website.

  • Are the non-Canon Pixma MG5250 cartridges you sell chipped?

    Compatible Canon MG5250 cartridge chips

Yes, all of the cartridges we sell, including compatible Canon Pixma MG5250 ink cartridges, come with the correct chip already fitted to the cartridge so you can install them directly into your printer without any problems.

  • Hi, is there XL cartridges for the Canon Pixma MG5250 printer?

    Canon MG5250 high yield cartridges

Unfortunately not, the Canon Pixma MG5250 inkjet photo printer only uses one regular size cartridge for each colour. XL cartridges aren't available for this printer. Please refer to the Canon website for further confirmation of which accessories are compatible with your Pixma MG5250 printer: http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Printers/Inkjet/PIXMA_MG5250/

  • Hi, why isn't the Canon MG5200 listed? Are the inks for the MG5250 okay for this model?

    Canon MG5250 model number

If you have a Canon Pixma MG5200 series printer that was purchased in the UK the actual model number is likely to be MG5250. The number MG5200 relates to the series of printers rather than the actual model number and the only printer that we list in this series is the Pixma MG5250 printer. Therefore, we advise you to re-check the model number and provided that you have a Canon MG5200 series printer that was bought in the UK you should be able to use any of the cartridges listed on this page for the Canon MG5250 printer.

  • Hello, I have a Canon Pixma MG5240 printer purchased while I was working abroad. I've always used 425 and 426 cartridges, but can't find them in the UK. Which cartridges will be compatible? Many thanks, Naheem .

    Canon Pixma MG5200 series ink

Unfortunately, we're unable to source the cartridges for the Canon Pixma MG5240 printer and we wouldn't be able to guarantee that the ink cartridges we do stock would work in a printer that was purchased outside of the UK. This page shows ink cartridges for the Pixma MG5250 printer which aren't compatible with the MG5240 printer. The only printer model in the Canon MG5200 series that we can currently supply ink for is the Pixma MG5250.

  • Are cartridges for Canon MG 5250 suitable for the MG 5200 printer? Thanks.

    Canon MG5250 cartridge compatibility

We don't list the Canon MG5200 printer as this is likely to refer to the name of the printer series rather than a specific model number. If your printer was purchased in the UK then it's likely that the model number will be the Canon Pixma MG5250. We advise you to check on the printer itself or in the manual to find the exact model number as we can only guarantee that the cartridges listed on this page will be compatible with a Canon Pixma MG5250 printer that was purchased in the UK.

  • I know it is not your printer I just use your ink ,but have you or do you know why windows 10 does not work on my canon printer

    printer

Unfortunately we can not be certain of this.

I have heard that there has been various problems with printers and computers with regards to the Windows 10 update, but are not certain how to resolve this. If may be worth contacting Canon directly who should be able to advise further.

  • Can an ink cartridge for a Canon MG5250 printer fit a Canon MP560 printer?

    Canon MG5250 ink compatibility

Sorry, the Canon Pixma MG5250 printer uses different cartridges to the Canon Pixma MP560 printer. For the Pixma MG5250 you need to use Canon PGI-525 / CLI-526 ink cartridges as listed here. Canon Pixma MG5250 Printer Review

Expert review of the Canon Pixma MG5250 printer 26 February 2014

Our Verdict:

The Canon MG5250 is a mid-range multifunction device which is packed full of useful features that you wouldn't get from a budget printer. Ideally suited for home users the Canon PIXMA MG5250 inkjet printer features a scanner, copier and can be used as part of a network thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi.

Design

Sleek and professional, the Canon MG5250 looks fantastic, its relatively slim profile makes a change from some of the bulkier all-in-ones on the market. It comes with a pop up LCD display which is easy to navigate and can be used to control the printer's functions. There are not one but two paper feed trays with a combined capacity of 300 sheets. The printer also comes with three memory card slots and a PictBridge socket for direct connection to USB drives or digital cameras. Canon has thought of everything including extendable hinges on the scanner, so it can handle books as well as single sheets.

Advantages

Print quality is fairly impressive for a mid-range all-in-one. The MG5250 handles text documents equally as well as photographs and the copier churns out replicas which are remarkably close to the original. The added ability to print directly onto CD or DVD really sets the Canon MG5250 inkjet printer ahead of its competitors.

Disadvantages

Duplex printing caused problems for the MG5250. Not only was the quality poor but speeds were dramatically reduced. As a mid-range all-in-one printer it would have been nice to see fax functionality as well as the option to connect via Ethernet. Ultimately, for a mid-range all-in-one, you can't go wrong with the Canon MG5250.
