I recently purchased from you a Jet Tec CP52B cartridge as a replacement for PGI-520BK Canon cartridge. The printer gives an error message cannot recognize this cartridge. I have removed and reinserted the cartridge 3 times with the same result I have another Jet Tec cartridge should I try this or is there anything else I should try first? see 1 answer

  • The troubleshooting we would recommend for when a cartridge is not being recognised is to remove the item and switch off the printer. Please wipe the chip on the cartridge with a lint cloth to remove any dust or fingerprints before reinstalling. If this does not resolve the problem, it is likely that the cartridge is faulty and we would recommend trying the second cartridge. Once you have tried the second cartridge, please contact a member of the customer care team on 08000 811 855, who will be happy to arrange either a refund or a replacement.

Canon Pixma MP560 ink cartridges 

If you want more bang for your buck, then the Canon MP560 is the perfect choice. With built-in Wi-Fi, duplex printing and a high quality scanner, the MP560 is the ideal all-in-one printer for the home or small office. The printer is ultra-versatile and comes with PictBridge and memory card support. It also comes with Bluetooth so you can print straight from your mobile or PDA.

Design

The Canon MP560 inkjet printer comes with a 5cm flip up LCD panel and comprehensive set of controls that allow you to print, and make copies at the click of a button. There’s also a click-wheel which makes scrolling through the menus a breeze. There are two separate paper feed compartments, both of which can hold an impressive 150 sheets. Canon has also included three memory card readers that support MemoryStick, SD, CompactFlash and xD, there’s also a PictBridge socket that doubles up as USB port. The all-in-one printer supports 5 Canon MP560 ink cartridges which are easy to install and replace when ink is low.

Advantages

The print quality is as expected from a Canon. Black text looks clean and is perfect for business documents. Colours are well replicated with no obvious signs of fading. The 2400 x 4800dpi scanner is equally impressive: the Auto Scan Mode automatically recognises whether you’re scanning a photo or a document and adjusts the MP560 settings accordingly for better results.

Disadvantages

Although Canon offer duplex printing, the quality and speed would probably put most users off. The MP560 could also benefit from some additional functionality such as; fax, scan-to-email and an automatic document feeder, if it’s to be used as small office device. Aside from the above, you can’t go wrong with the MP560, especially when you consider the price.
