The Epson LQ-550 is a dot matrix printer that can also handle envelopes aside from single and continuous paper. This unit uses 24 pins and a black cartridge ribbon. The Epson LQ-550 ribbon printer is also capable of handling copies, one original along with two copies. This dot matrix printer was produced in 1989 and is very outdated.
Design
This printer weighs 15 lbs and measures only 5.5 x 15.3 x 12.6 inches. It has a printhead life of 2 million strokes. Unlike its predecessor, the Epson LQ-550 impact printer comes with a micro feed, paper parking, and push tractor. Print speed with a pitch of 12 is 180 characters per second for draft and 60 characters per second for letter quality. There is a parallel port.
