mixixng compatables with real ones see 1 answer

I recently bought some compatable cartridges and installed them in my epson stylus S22,after instalation, the printer status was saying it did not recognise the ink, although it only marked up the black ink cartridge. If i changed just the black one for a real one, would it work.

  • I am very sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced with your printer. If it is just the black cartridge which is bringing up the error message, it is possible that this cartridge is faulty. We would suggest the following troubleshooting:
    - Please remove the cartridge and switch the printer off, leaving it off for five minutes. Wipe the chip on the cartridge with a dry cloth before reinstalling. Are you still getting the same error message?
    If you are still experiencing the same problems it does suggest a fault with the black cartridge and hopefully a replacement should resolve the issue for you, however, I would recommend contacting the supplier of the cartridge first to see if they can suggest anything further.

Simple, sleek, and affordable, the Epson Stylus S22 is as straightforward as it gets, promising lab-quality photos and crisp text documents. The Epson S22 is aimed at students, home users, and offices that need a no-fuss printer, but it consumes a lot of ink and becomes expensive to own in the long-run.


Design

With a clean, sleek, and compact frame, the Epson Stylus S22 can fit into most spaces in a dorm room, bedroom, or small office. Its printing method relies on Epson's Micro Piezo print heads and the DURABrite Ultra Ink system. The printer's maximum resolution reaches up to 5760x1440dpi, and the device itself can be connected to a computer via USB. The Stylus S22 uses 4 individual ink cartridges.

Advantages

The Epson Stylus S22 is Energy Star certified. DURABrite Ultra Inks ensure water-resistant, anti-fade, smudge-proof, and quick-drying photos, while four individual ink cartridges mean you only have to replace the one that is empty. Photo printing is straightforward with the Epson Stylus S22 and the minor edits are easy to do with Easy Photo Print and PhotoEnhance features. Paper capacity is up to 100 sheets.

Disadvantages

Despite the low price tag, the Epson Stylus S22 is not the cheapest printer to run because of the way it consumes ink. Epson may also need to improve its technology on ink consumption. Print speeds of the Epson Stylus S22 vary, but they hardly reach 28 ppm in monochrome and 15 ppm in colour, which are claimed by the company.
