I have tried to use "compatible" stylus for EPSON SX218 and after installing cartridges, Printer displays--"do not recognise cartridges" although my supplier idicates otherwisecan you assist please see 1 answer

  • The cartridges you require for this printer are the T0711 black, T0712 cyan, T0713 magenta and T0714 yellow. As long as your printer was purchased in the UK, these cartridges should be compatible, therefore it is possible that one or more of the cartridges you have installed is faulty.
    There is some troubleshooting you can try to help determine which one. Firstly, I would suggest removing all cartridges and switching off your printer. Leave the print off for five minutes and wipe the chip on each cartridge with a lint-free cloth and reinstall them. If you are still getting the same error message it suggests that one or more of the cartridges is faulty.
    If you still have your old cartridges you should be able to determine which one is faulty by switching the cartridges round in your printer, so that you have one new cartridge and three old cartridges installed at a time. Try this for each cartridge and this should hopefully reveal which item(s) is causing this error.
    I would recommend contacting the supplier of these cartridges if you are still experiencing problems, hopefully they should be able to help further.

I have an Epson sx218 and have been using no Epson Cartridges but i got a message on the printer "Cartridges not recognised." I replaced all 4 colours but am getting the same response when I switch the printer on, rendering the printer useless. I see you are selling cartridges guaranteed to work on the sx218. My Epson Stylus SX218 is currently loaded with the original set of four cartridges, but the black ink (T0711) has expired. I have read elsewhere that if I replace the black cartridge only with a compatible, it will be rejected with a 'Cartridge Not Recognised' message because the smart chip in the replacement black cartridge will conflict with the smart chips in the other original cartridges. Is this true, and if so does it mean that I have to buy a full set of compatible cartidges, even though only the black ink has expired?

  • Our compatible cartridges should work alongside both compatible and genuine cartridges. So if it is only the black you need to replace you should be able to install a T0711 compatible cartridge and it should work without any problems with the three genuine cartridges you have installed.

Design

The Epson SX218 printer’s black, high-gloss finish looks great and its compact design will make it suitable for the smallest of home offices.
