i bought some cartridges said for use with epson printers sx515w it was a multi-pack no.IJ-T715G8-SLIM, my epson wont except them, WHY ?

  • The cartridges that you require for this printer are the T0715 multipack (which is made up of the T0711 black, T0712 cyan, T0713 magenta and T0714 yellow). So it does appear that you have received the correct cartridges for your printer and they should work, provided the printer was purchased in the UK. It is possible that one of the cartridges is faulty. I would suggest removing all four cartridges and switching your printer off for five minutes. Check that all the tabs and clips have been removed and wipe the chip on each cartridge with a lint-free cloth, before reinstalling. If you are still getting the same error message it is likely that one or more of the cartridges is faulty. You can test which one by installing three of your old cartridges with one new cartridge and switching them round until you isolate the faulty item. If you are still having problems with these cartridges I would suggest contacting the company who supplied them for further assistance.

Does the T1001 cartridge fit the SX515W at the same time as the other 3 colour cartridges? I presume that it is a higher capacity black cartridge.

Epson Stylus SX515W ink cartridges 

Epson have positioned the SX515W at the top-end of the home printer market, offering an all-in-one device that’s super speedy. Described as the Bugatti Veyron of the inkjet world, the SX515W offers laser printer speeds at a quarter of the costs. If you want to print, scan and photocopy in a hurry, look no further than the Epson SX515W inkjet printer.

Design

The Epson SX515W printer is well-designed and offers all the features you'd expect from a quality home printer. You can connect via USB, Ethernet and even wirelessly, it has a respectable 120 sheet input tray and uses four individual Epson SX515W inks – saving you money on printing costs. The printer also allows you to connect directly from a memory card; you can then view your images on the LCD screen and print without even having to wait for your computer to load up.

Advantages

Epson have supercharged the SX515W, not only is the printer quick (20 pages per minute for normal quality) but the copier and scanner are equally as fast, making it perfect for those of you who print large volumes. Connectivity options are strong; the Epson SX515W accepts SD cards, memory sticks and has a compact flash reader.

Disadvantages

Unfortunately, the Epson SX515W tends to sacrifice quality for speed. Colour graphics and photo prints were disappointing, with the majority of prints looking washed out. Detail is there, but it lacks vibrancy or any real punch. The quality of the scanner is also disappointing considering the price of the printer. It would have also been nice to see fax functionality added, turning this into true home office device.
