Our Verdict:
Offering good value for money the Deskjet D5560 is a sensible solution for a multiple computer household, thanks to its wireless function. It prints on plain paper and even on photo blanks at fast speeds of 28ppm for black drafts and 21ppm for colour drafts. The Deskjet D5560 only has 2 ink cartridges – one black and one colour – making it easier to maintain. It is relatively affordable, but running costs may be higher than you anticipate.
Design
The HP Deskjet D5560 is compact and comes in a glossy black case. The control panel is pretty easy to understand, with only 4 buttons for paper feeding, cancelling print jobs, turning the wireless connection on, and switching the machine on or off. The basic monochromatic LCD panel shows ink levels and the signal strength of the wireless connection.
Advantages
The Deskjet D5560 has a USB socket for direct connection to a PC, as well as for setting up the wireless connection. The printer produces sharp black text on plain paper, and works fine as a photo printer (even though it was not especially designed for this purpose). The best thing about the Deskjet D5560 is that it allows you to print from anywhere in your home.
Disadvantages
Even though it uses only 2 ink cartridges, the Deskjet D5560 can be expensive to run especially if you are a heavy user. Try buying replacement inks in bulk to save money.
