The HP Officejet Pro 251dw is aimed at small offices looking for a user-friendly way to manage their printing environment without compromising the costs for colour and monochrome output. It is a high-end and versatile machine that simplifies the workload, but it lacks expandability features.

Design

The HP Officejet Pro 251dw has a sleek and elegant design with an 8.8Kg body that measures 19.5 inches wide, 9.35 inches tall, and 18.1 inches deep. It runs on 256MB of memory and powered by a 480MHz processor. Standard connectivity is via high-speed USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi, but it is possible to operate the device on-board through a 4.3-inch touch-screen panel. Paper is handled by a 250-sheet tray and a 150-sheet output bin.

Advantages

The HP Officejet Pro 251dw prints fast with speeds of up to 20ppm in monochrome and 15ppm in colour. The high 1200x1200dpi resolution creates sharp and crisp fonts and lines on plain paper. It is Wi-Fi and Ethernet-ready, and it prints from cloud. The HP Officejet Pro 251dw can also be configured for two-sided, borderless, and mobile printing. An extra 250-sheet input tray can be attached to the machine.

Disadvantages

It is not the best photo printer which may not be of concern in an office environment. There are no options to expand the paper capacity and memory of the HP Officejet Pro 251dw. With an operating noise level of 62 dB the HP 251dw could be considered noisy and disruptive, so some thought may have to go into positioning so as not to disturb those working in close proximity. The HP Officejet Pro 251dw can be difficult to set-up because it is heavy.
