PageWide Enterprise Colour Flow MFP 586z Printer Review

Expert review of the PageWide Enterprise Colour Flow MFP 586z printer 01 September 2016

Our Verdict:

As the flagship printer of HP, the HP PageWide Enterprise Colour Flow MFP 586z is a highly reliable machine capable of printing in high quality colour in large volumes. With duplex printing and the ability to print on a wide variety of paper types and weights, the MFP 586z is a flexible solution suitable for a wide variety of needs.

Advantages

For most offices and workspaces, this is a four cartridge ink-based printer that can easily withstand the volume of work it will be required to deal with, making it a solid and reliable choice for most companies. It is also able to flip two sided pages to facilitate quick and east scanning. With a page capacity of 500 sheets and the option for an additional tray, as well as high yield ink cartridges, you should find that the HP PageWide Enterprise Colour Flow MFP 586z provides reliable printing with minimal maintenance.

Disadvantages

If you are looking for a fast printer that can withstand a very high workload without feeling under stress, this may not be the best device to choose. The recommended monthly page volume for this printer is 2000 to 7500 pages and some feel that the quality of output starts to dip when your volume increases, so if you require consistency even when you are pushing the printer to its maximum level, this may not be your best option.

Any office that expects a high volume of work to roll through their printer may find the HP PageWide Enterprise Colour Flow MFP 586z is slightly lacking in consistency. However, offices with a more moderate volume will find that this is a printer that offers a high standard on a daily basis, making it a strong addition to the workforce. It is only when you push the machine to extremes that you find it slightly lacking in respect to its ability to deliver.
