HP Photosmart 8450xi ink cartridges 

The HP Photosmart 8450xi is aimed at photography enthusiasts looking for an efficient printer that delivers high quality photos, fast. The multiple connectivity options make it a versatile solution. However, the Photosmart 8450xi may not be a smart choice for the budget conscious.

Design

Characterised by its crowded control panel and a small colour LCD screen, the HP Photosmart 8450xi is not exactly the most user-friendly printer in the market. It is compact (15.8 inches in diameter) and is relatively lightweight at 17.6 lbs. There are built-in memory card slots on the HP Photosmart 8450xi, which runs on a 64MB RAM.

Advantages

The HP Photosmart 8450xi is fast when printing drafts in colour or monochrome. Connectivity options include PictBridge and 4 memory card slots, which make it possible to print pictures directly from your memory card or digital camera. The HP Photosmart 8450xi uses a USB interface and can be upgraded with a Bluetooth adapter. It is a departure from the usual 2-cartridge system because it uses multiple inks for more accurate prints.

Disadvantages

The limited 1-year warranty of the HP Photosmart 8450xi is a drawback. It is also incompatible with newer operating systems, and print speed can be faster. The HP Photosmart 8450xi produces high-quality images, but expect to pay a lot for consumables if you are a heavy user.
