I need black ink for a HP Photosmart C3180 printer. I notice you sell 336 ad 338, will both be OK for my printer please and if so which one would you recommend

  • I can confirm that both the HP336 and the HP338 Black cartridges are compatible with printer HP Photosmart C3180. You can view all compatible items for this make and model of printer by following the link below:

    The HP336 cartridge is a 'Light User' cartridge.
    The HP338 cartridge is a 'Standard Capacity' cartridge.

    The HP336 cartridge is designed for people who do not print regularly and do not require much ink for their printing. The HP338 cartridge contains more ink than the HP336 cartridge and will produce more than double the number of printed pages. This cartridge equates to better value for money than the HP 336 'Light User' cartridge, provided that you use your printer regularly.

Hi there can you let me know if I can purchase both color and black in cartridges - the codes you have are different from mine. My colour cartridge is no 342 my black cartridge is no 346

  • The HP 342 and 346 cartridges are light user cartridges and contain less ink than the standard cartridges. For your printer, you can either use the light user cartridges that you have used before, or the standard cartridges with are the HP 348 and the HP 343 cartridges. Compatibility for HP 93 and 92 cartridges see 1 answer

I have an HP Photosmart C3180 printer originally purchased in Australia. I have been using only HP 92 and 93 cartridges. I have used an alternative HP cartridge model (can't recall the number) recommended by a printer shop in the EU but although the cartridge fitted into my printer, it simply would not work. Can you guarantee that HP 338 and 343 cartridges are exact substitutes? Thanks.

  • Unfortunately none of the cartridges that we supply will be suitable for your printer. Printers have regions the same as a DVD player and so will only work with cartridges purchased within the region the printer was purchased. This will be why the cartridges that you purchased within the EU would not work for you.

My HP Photosmart C3180 ran out of ink, I purchased a replacement ink. The printer did not work and the black ink finished before I printed anything. I might have to take it to a shop. Could you please suggest where I could take it? Thanks Eutel

HP Photosmart C3180 ink cartridges 

Multifunctional devices offer fantastic value for money, none more so than the HP C3180 inkjet printer that costs the same price as some standalone printers. The all-in-one device has excellent print and scanner resolutions, it also allows you to connect directly with the printer, saving you the time and hassle of having to boot up the computer. Aimed at the home market, the HP Photosmart C3180 is the perfect solution for anyone who wants a quality all-in-one on a budget.

Design

The C3180’s gloss white and grey finish doesn’t stand out from the crowd, and looks like any other all-in-one on the market. However, it’s fairly compact which is ideal if you’re limited for space. The top of the printer has a basic screen and a range of helpful function buttons. There is also a memory card drive but annoyingly doesn’t support PictBridge. The printer itself is user-friendly and replacing the HP C3180 cartridges is simple.

Advantages

As far as print speeds go, the HP C3180 is fairly rapid. There aren’t many multifunctional inkjet devices on the market that can match 11 pages per minute for text documents. The scanner is equally impressive producing high-resolution, realistic results at fairly fast speeds. The option to insert memory cards directly into the printer is great touch and incredibly efficient, simply pop your card into the reader, select the image and the number of copies you wish to print and click go.

Disadvantages

The main problem with the HP C3180 is photographic print quality, which appeared slightly granulated and lacked clarity. This issue will only really affect those of you who are looking to print high-resolution photos which can be overcome by using HP’s quality photographic paper. It would have been a nice added touch if HP were to include WiFi as connecting with a single USB cable may be an issue for families with more than one computer.
