  • Please could you tell me which is the correct cartridge for my Lexmark X75. Is it a 26 or a 27 as there is quite a difference in price? Thanks, M D Harper.

    Lexmark X75 colour ink cartridge

The Lexmark No. 26 and Lexmark No, 27 are both colour ink cartridges that will work in your Lexmark X75 printer. The difference is that the Lexmark 26 is a high capacity tri-colour ink cartridge whereas the Lexmark No, 27 is a light user tri-colour ink cartridge. This reflects the differences in price and you should order the cartridge which best suits your printing requirements. For example, if you print lots of colour images then the high capacity Lexmark No,26 ink cartridge will be more appropriate as it will last longer and give you a lower cost-per-copy.

Lexmark X75 Printer Review

Expert review of the Lexmark X75 printer 01 June 2012

Our Verdict:

Built for small office use, the Lexmark X75 printer, scanner, and copier produces average quality graphics, texts, and photos at average print speeds. Various media types are supported, but the paper tray does not look very sturdy. The Lexmark X75 can print at a rate of 11 ppm in black and white, and as fast as 6 ppm in colour. Despite these tempting features, the X75 multifunction printer still fails in keeping running costs low because it still uses a tri-colour cartridge, which is prone to ink wastage.

Design

The Lexmark X75 resembles previous units, but comes in a white and blue finish. It features a flatbed scanner, which is conveniently covered with a protective lid. At the right side of the top panel are the controls and indicator lights, but no LCD screen for standalone operation. The Lexmark X75 all-in-one can scan images up to a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi and even up to 9600 dpi through digital enhancement. The paper tray can hold up to 100 sheets of plain paper.

Advantages

The Lexmark X-75 model provides users with an affordable device that is easy to maintain (albeit quite costly to run). It offers basic scan, copy, and print functions, with easy one-touch buttons. Text quality from the Lexmark X75 printer is good with clearly defined characters. Meanwhile, colour images appear bright and vibrant, suggesting that the Lexmark X75 meets most users requirements as an inkjet printer.

Disadvantages

The lack of an LCD screen makes PC-less operation quite difficult. Home users will find the Lexmark X75 printer sufficient, but small office users might be disappointed by the lack of built-in fax and networking. In addition to high running costs, the Lexmark X75 is not intended for heavy usage and also fails to match the print speeds achieved by other multifunction printers in the same class.
