Our Verdict:
There are very few printers which really grab your attention these days. In many ways, this is merely a result of the sheer number of forward thinking and attractive printers which are currently on offer, particularly in the Hewlett-Packard range. As such, a printer such as the Neopost IS-480 might just pass you by, but this would be a crying shame; as the following review suggests.
Design
The Neopost IS480 is not just any old printer; in fact, it is a high performance modular mailing system according to the manufacturer. To me and you, the Neopost IS480 is a franking machine and on a design footing, there is nothing bad about the Neopost IS-480 in the slightest. Actually, the Neopost IS-480 really is a stunning piece of machinery. A very daring, slightly out-there design (this printer looks oddly like a boat, if that's at all possible) is complimented by a very handy user interface and subtle colour scheme.
Advantages
Key advantages where the Neopost IS-480 is concerned is speed and efficiency. The Neopost IS-480 digital mailing system has class-leading processing speeds of up to 150 LPM (letters per minute). If you are looking for a professional mailing device then the Neopost IS-480 franking machine fits the bill. The IS-480 delivers clear and precise postal impressions and features a colour touch screen display for easy navigation by the operator. All in all, the Neopost IS-480 is certainly worthy of note because the quality of output seen in our tests was very good indeed.
Disadvantages
There are hardly any issues to mention where the Neopost IS 480 is concerned. For some of you, this franking machine might be a little bit pricey but then again, you get what you pay for with the Neopost IS-480, and the quality justifies the price. The only slight concern we have is that the Neopost IS480 takes up slightly more desk space than other models. However, advocates of the IS-480 would argure that the inclusion of more features makes this is a small price to pay.
