Tips For Your Ink Cartridges.
Printer and ink cartridges can be a very tricky business. If you are not careful then you could end up paying a small fortune on repairs and replacement ink cartridges. From before the purchase of your printer to after the ink cartridges are over, every aspect has to be given an equal amount of thought or you might have to face a lot of problems later on.Once the ink in your ink cartridges gets over, its time to purchase a new ink cartridge. However, new ink cartridges cost a lot and though cheaper replacement ink cartridges also cost a significant amount. So, make maximum usage of the ink cartridges that you have. Your printer should have an option known as eco-mode or light printing mode. Printing with these options should help you save some ink. If you are just proof reading text or printing some drafts, remove the prints with a smaller font size and in black and white. This is another way of saving some ink.
When your printer warns you that your ink cartridge is running low on ink, then take out the ink cartridge and softly sway it from right to left and then install it back in to the printer. This will enable you to make use of that last bit of ink that is left inside the cartridge, which is usually thrown out without realizing.
Avoid using generic ink cartridges for your printer. These usually contain cheap ink with a chemical balance different the actual manufacturers ink. This can seriously damage your printer nozzle.
Never allow an ink cartridge to become fully dry. If this happens then the ink will choke up the nozzle and it will be very difficult to remove. There are some ink cartridges which if allowed to completely dry up once, will not be functional again. It will not work even if you refill the ink cartridge with new ink.
Never remove the cartridge from the printer unless absolutely necessary. The more you remove it and fix it the quicker the contacts will wear out. Also, if you have removed the ink cartridge avoid touching the contact point with your finger. The finger oil has the potential to seriously damage the contact points. If by mistake you do happen to touch the contact then clean it immediately. To clean the contact point you will need a cotton bud and some alcohol.
Remember not to switch off your printer unless and until it completes its cycle. This is because the printer’s head has to stop in the exact place or else you will be facing dried out printer nozzles and ink leaks as well.
These tips should help you maintain your printer and will save you some money as well.
