Designed for personal use, the Brother PT-8 label printer is quite versatile. This easy-to-use label machine can deliver clear print labels that can be used for everything from home shelving to school and office supplies. The PT-8 label maker is battery-operated, making it easy to take along. To save up on batteries, an optional AC adapter is also available for the Brother PT8 P-Touch label printer.
Design
The compact Brother PT-8 labelling machine features 10 function keys and comes with a dial that has an A-Z as well as 1-0 and different symbols as well as an enter key in the middle. Above the dial is a small LCD, 7 x 5 dots and 1 line x 6 columns. This LCD also comes with indicators for the style, size, font, and caps of labels. At the back of the device is the battery compartment along with the tape cartridge compartment. On the side is the tape exit slot and tape cutter lever and on top is the font cartridge. The Brother PT-8 measures 6.69 x 5.04 x 2.15 inches and weighs 1.1lbs.
Advantages
The hand-held Brother P-Touch 8 label machine is very light and takes up little space on desks or in storage. It offers different character sizes and has a print speed of 12cps. The Brother PT-8 labelling printer delivers long lasting labels that have powerful adhesives. Its memory buffer can save up to 55 characters. To save battery life, there is auto power shut off.
Disadvantages
Although optional font cartridge is available, the Brother PT8 only comes with 1 standard font. The P-Touch PT8 model is outdated and uses a dial instead of a convenient keypad.
