What is Cloud Printing and How Will it Affect Me?

  • By Michael Furniss in Printing Technology

Perhaps the best way to answer this question is with a scenario I imagine is very common in your life. Imagine this scene if you will… You are sat on the lavatory in the Hong Kong branch of McDonalds surfing the net on your smart phone for new images of Mr T (hey, we’re not here to judge). You find a ...

Canon: Thundering at the High End

  • May 30, 2011
  • By James Murray in Printing Technology

Canon, founded in Tokyo back in 1937, has for decades been a world leader in just about everything that involves images, including printers. A listing of the company’s technical innovations is imposing, but even that does not tell the entire tale; the original HP LaserJet, introduced in 1984, was built around the Canon LBP-CX photocopier engine, as was Apple’s Laserwriter. ...

How to Choose the Best Printer for Your Home Office

  • May 27, 2011

Who created this 5% measurement? This 5% measurement was created by those good, good people at the excitingly named International Organisation for Standardisation. In their ...

A Look inside HP’s High Security Ink Lab

  • By James Adams in Printing Technology

Today we’re taking a look at HP’s inkjet manufacturing operation facility where they test, develop and manufacture inkjet cartridges. The 200-acre site in Dublin was built back in 1995 and is the company’s main R&D HQ. According to HP, the precision required for an inkjet nozzle to perform correctly is similar to dropping a penny from a 40-storey building and hitting ...
