Review: A Look at Epson WorkForce 600 Multi-Function Printer

WorkForce 600Epson is bringing in plenty of new printers into the market and latest entrant is the WorkForce 600 multi-function printer which is capable of printing, scanning, copying and faxing. The printer is targeted at homes and home offices. It is capable of printing photos as well.

The manufacturer claims that the printer outputs laser quality prints. It contains four ink cartridges to do the job; cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Only the ink that runs out needs replacement. The printer is also smudge, fade and water resistant.

Printing speed is top notch at 38ppm for both monochrome and colour in draft mode. Faxing is quick at 3 seconds per page and an internal memory big enough to record 180 pages is provided.

WorkForce 600 boasts of other enviable features such as duplex printing, Ethernet and Wi-Fi functionalities. The printer is mounted with a tilting 2.5” colour LCD and can work sans PC through PictBridge port and memory card slots.

This offering is known to be environmentally friendly by consuming a third of the power required to run a laser printer. Honestly, it would be unjust to compare the power consumed for a laser printer with an inkjet printer. Yet, the fact is that laser printers consume more energy comparatively.

WorkForce 600 is priced at £100 and the market response is encouraging for Epson. Going by the website, all pieces of this printer is already sold out from the Epson store.
