Affordable Office Colour Printer: HP Officejet Pro 5400
Colour printers for offices? Yes, HP’s latest A4 inkjet sensation, Officejet Pro 5400 is an affordable printer for both gray-scale and colour printing. It could well be the next laser replacement printer.
The printing speeds are almost comparable to laser printers with 36ppm for black and 35ppm for colour. It can also be used as a photo printer. Just like any other HP inkjet printer, 5400 needs 4 colour cartridges which go in the colour coded slots behind the printer door on the left side. The modified paper tray can hold more than 250 sheets of paper which is uncommon among all other inkjet printers. The biggest drawback is the Ethernet incapability. It’s surprising that Ethernet capability has not been provided for a printer marketed for offices. The immediate upgrade 5400tn is a network printer.
Officejet Pro 5400 is priced at £84 and the upgrade 5400tn has a price tag of £99. With the printing speeds matching laser printers, this printer could very well be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) DeskJet printers in the market today.
