Brother MFC-8480DN : Multi-Function Monochrome Laser Printer
Brother’s latest multi-function laser printer in town, MFC-8480DN has caught attention, mostly from the big boys. Many offices and enterprises are trying out this Brother printer on an experimental basis as it fits the bill from most angles, at least by the features offered on it. It cannot print in colour but can fax, copy, scan and print with ease.
Maximum print resolution possible is 1200 X 1200 dpi and some reviewers who have tested it tell us that the output is of very high quality. A printer that has umpteen number of features and which leads to a compromise with the print quality is as good as a dead duck; the converse is entirely true, and Brother MFC-8480DN is a good example of a good quality printer.
Print speed in draft mode is at 32 pages per minute which is not the fastest that we have seen, but it still nudges over the average ones.
The printer comes with built-in networking with Ethernet and alternatively offers USB 2.0 and parallel ports for hooking onto individual and legacy systems respectively.
Industry’s most sought after feature, automatic duplex printing is definitely present. Office centric features such as a legal-size flatbed and a 50 page automatic document feeder (ADF) for handling multi-page documents are included.
The Brother MFC-8480DN carries a price tag of £250 which is highly economical considering the features and outputs it has to offer.
