Canon, in its press release has announced a new reasonably priced multi-function laser printer for homes and offices. The imageCLASS MF4270 as it is called is a network printer that is compactly sized.
Canon is trying to contribute to the green movement by introducing a printer that can produce duplex output directly from a PC. Not only prints, it can also produce duplex output from incoming faxes and while copying from other documents.
The MF4270 has a print speed of 21ppm for monochrome prints. It has a printing resolution of 1200 X 600 dpi which is a set standard for office printers. The captured scans are saved at a resolution of 9600dpi and offer 24 million colours. Scanning input is from the automatic document feeder and flat bed platen glass.
The imageCLASS MF4270 MFP provides a robust fax solution in a compact desktop design featuring eight one-touch speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial numbers, 256-page memory capacity, PC Faxing, and two-sided duplex output. The imageCLASS MF4270 uses a 33.6 Kbps Super G3 faxi for the rapid transmission of facsimile communications.
MF4270 connects to networks and PCs through a USB 2.0 interface and 10/100 Base T network.
It is priced at £150 which is reasonable for an office printer. The features are offered are at full notch. MF4270 is expected to be available in the market in September.
