Canon Develops a New Application for iPhone and iPod Touch

Canon, the master of photo printing has strengthened their integration with Apple products with the release of a new application, Easy-PhotoPrint , meant for iPhones and iPod touches.

The application allows users to print photographs with ease wirelessly. As shown in the image below, users can view images in thumbnail format with a simple flick of their finger. Various editing features are also offered, such as photo enlargement and red eye reduction; all with the famous Apple pinch. A single touch then sends the selected image directly to the Canon printer.

From the Apple’s stable, it is compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch. And, they work on PIXMA line of printers which are powered by Canon inkjet cartridges, MP990, PIXMA MP640 and PIXMA MP560 printers, over a WiFi connection.

The press report mentions that various paper types are supported through the application. The list includes Plain Paper, Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Photo Paper Pro II, Photo Paper Pro Platinum and Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss, with options for bordered or borderless printing.

The application can be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes App Store, and requires the iPhone 2.2.1 Software Update or later.
