Canon Introduces Pixma iP1900

iP1900The leader in photo printing, Canon has unveiled yet another photo printer in the Pixma series, iP1900 and is touted as an entry level printer and meant for consumers who think economy. The printer is not a multi-function printer unlike the trend these days.

Canon claims that the printer offers a best resolution of 4800 X 1200 dpi which is equivalent to lab quality. Each ink drop is as small as 2pl which enables the printer to provide such fine quality prints. Photo printing is powered by ChromaLife100 system which promises to deliver long-lasting 10X15 cm photos in approximately 55 seconds.

iP1900 uses its patented FINE cartridges. The system contains two cartridges, black cartridge which is a pigment ink formulation while the packaged colour cartridge contains Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colour inks.

An application worth a mention is the Easy-PhotoPrint EX that is bundled with other applications and it enables users to create photo albums and calendars among other creativities.

Like most printers today, iP1900 is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.

The printer is likely to hit the market in October. There has been no word on price yet.
