Canon Launches Selphy CP780

cp780Canon has launched a successor to its compact photo printer CP760, the Selphy CP780 which brings out better photos and at a much faster rate. The printer is available in three different shades to suit one’s liking; silver, blue and pink.

“Canon SELPHY printers have consistently provided consumers with high-quality images at a reasonable price,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon. “Now with the three different color variations, users will not only be able to share their memorable moments but also their own unique style.”

The improved print quality is attributed towards the introduction of Portrait Image Optimize feature. This feature ensures that facial colours are represented in its truest form thereby providing the most accurate replication of images in digital cameras.

Printing speed is grand at 47 seconds per 4″ X 6″ postcard sized photograph.

Like its predecessors, CP780 can print directly from memory cards and USB port. However, the lack of a PictBridge port on it is notable.

The printer is mounted with a 2.5″ LCD screen for viewing images before printing and to navigate through the menu.

The Canon Selphy CP780 is moderately priced at £50. An optional battery pack for this printer comes at a premium price of £40. It sounds like a good printer to own, with superlative printing features and as always, excellent print quality. Trials and tests will be conducted shortly when we get our hands on this printer, to understand the true value of this economically priced printer.
