The trend as expected is going for mobility and against space consumption for all appliances and gadgets that we use on a daily basis. It has caught up with printers a few years back but the effort right now seems to be flowing towards fine tuning the portability.
Poloaroid’s Pogo printer is a mobile printer but cannot be matched with other (actual) mobile printers in the market. The simple reason being the size of prints it offers. Credit card sized photos are not a favourite choice yet.
Canon’s Pixma iP100 is one of the truest mobile printers in the market today. It is compact enough to carry around easily, works off rechargeable battery, connects through Bluetooth technology and the quality is at par (or even more) with other inkjet printers in the market.
Features
- Portable document and photo printer
9600 x 2400 dpi FINE print head
5 ink system
50 sec photo prints
ChromaLife100
20ppm mono, 14ppm colour document printing
Stylish silver finish
IrDA IR and optional Bluetooth printing
When fully charged, iP100 is capable of printing up to 290 pages which is more than adequate (provided the claim is fulfilled).
After introducing all the pluses, it’s time for the one-big-disadvantage of this printer. It costs way too much. We felt that the price tag of £199 was quite steep and could possibly affect the number of printers sold.
