The age of wireless printing is setting in, and those printers with the capacity to source prints without wires is still considered as premium brand. Canon’s latest in town, Pixma MP990 belongs to this elite group, Pixma MP990. When we describe products as elite or premium, they are usually attached with a similar banding price and this one is no better at around £200.
Canon is known for its superior quality and this one offers a best resolution of 2400 X 9600 dpi. It leverages upon six inks including a gray ink for Black & White photos. On the downside, the colour cartridge consisting of five colours in packaged into one, thereby offering no economical solution to the consumer.
Print speed is good for documents at 12 pages per minute for monochrome and 9 pages per minute for colour at normal mode. However, 4″ X 6″ borderless prints rate is 16 seconds, as per the claims, we highly doubt it on the contrary.
Automatic duplex printing, 3.8″ LCD screen and all-in-functions that includes scanning and copying are some of the highlights of Pixma MP990.
This Pixma printer is network ready by default, both wired and non-wired. PictBridge port, memory card readers and an optional Bluetooth capability are present for sans PC operation.
