Canon has bagged one of the prestigious awards in the printer line from Buyers Laboratory Inc, the MFP Line of the Year award for the year 2008. The company has a rare distinction of getting honoured with this award for the sixth consecutive time. The consistent performance by Canon in the multi-function line demonstrates its hold over the technology and the ever increasing consumer base. Along with this award, the printer major has also won six Pick of the Year awards.
Buyers Laboratory Inc awards printer manufacturers after carrying out rigorous tests for a period of two months. Each printer is tested on various facets such as reliability, image quality, productivity and connectivity. Scores are allocated to each factor and one multi-function printer is awarded yearly.
Until now, in all categories of printer awards, Canon has bagged a whopping 23 MFP awards since 2005 which is more than any other vendor in this category. Other previous awards include three Outstanding Achievement awards and several others in other categories like wide format devices, scanners, fax-centric MFPs and printers.
Along with the MFP Line of the Year, Canon received six Pick of the Year awards for imagePROGRAF iPF820 in Wide Format, the imageRUNNER 3245i for Segment 4 Monochrome MFP, the imageRUNNER 3225 for Segment 2 Monochrome MFP, the imageRUNNER 3235i for Segment 3 Monochrome MFP, the Color imageRUNNER C2550 for Segment 2 Business Color MFP, and the Color imageCLASS 9170c for Small Workgroup Color Multifunction Printer.
