HP Laptop can run for 24 Hours Straight without a Recharge

HP has set a new trend in notebook computing by introducing a laptop whose juice doesn’t run out until 24 hours of continuous operation. The laptop, HP EliteBook 6930p comes with ultra energy saving components that ensures long battery life.

24 hours of continuous notebook operation is simply brilliant. Imagine not having to carry the charger around, it could save us from load and extra baggage; and could mobilize our operations in a better way.

The death knell for all battery packs on laptops arises from the display screen but for HP, one of the main contributors is its patented mercury free LED display called Illumi-Lite, which can boost the battery life by 4 hours over LCD screens.

Hard drives are yet another battery suckers, and HP has gone in with Intel solid-state hard drives (SSD) that has a net saving of 7% energy over others.

“All-day computing has been the holy grail of notebook computing,” said Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, HP. “With the HP EliteBook 6930p, customers no longer have to worry about their notebook battery running out before their work day is over.”

As HP puts it, in 24 hours of battery life, people can:

- Use an HP EliteBook 6930p continuously on the world’s longest scheduled commercial airline flight – linking Newark Liberty International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport – approximately 18 hours, 40 minutes.

- Take more than 10 trips on the EuroStar train between London and Paris – approximately 2 hours, 15 minutes each direction – before recharging the battery.

- Travel as a passenger by car from Maine to Florida using a notebook during the entire journey.

World’s Cheapest Laptop at £60

Cheap LaptopBehold! The world’s cheapest laptop is here and no surprises that it origins from China, a country mainly known for its imitations and cheap products. In a couple months, it will probably hit every computer store across UK (if lucky).

Brands from China don’t get significant recognition worldwide but all Chinese products religiously carry a brand name. This laptop is manufactured by Impulse and the product number NPX-9000. This laptop is on sale in bulk on Alibaba for £60 with a minimum purchase quantity of 50 pieces.

The laptop’s specs don’t raise any eyebrows. It has the meanest of the meanest configurations and such a specification dates back to desktops in the 1990s.

It has a 400MHz processor along with 128MB SDRAM. The hard disk drive is ancient at 1GB. The screen is tiny at 7” and can accommodate only Linux operating system on it.

Honestly, I don’t see any point purchasing a cheap laptop with specifications such as this. We are in the age of fast paces and such a laptop with crumbling speeds should (and will) be least preferred. Buyers are well suited to go for used laptops rather than a new cheap laptop.
