Dell 1235cn Colour Laser Printer

dell1235cnDell Corporation has launched a new multi-function colour laser printer into the European market; 1235cn. It’s aimed at medium to small work-groups and the printer looks grand with black matte clothing and smooth curves and edges. It can print, scan, copy and fax.

The Dell 1235cn colour laser printer prints at a best resolution of 2400 X 600 dpi. It is powered with a 360 MHz processor and a 128 MB standard memory. An additional 2 MB memory is also provided for the fax module.

Printing speed is claimed at 16 pages per minute for monochrome and 4 pages per minute for colour. The major speed difference between monochrome and colour prints is owed towards the technology, the multi-pass model where the paper is fed through the printer head for each colour at a time. The printer is capable of handling a maximum capacity of 20,000 pages per month.

1235cn is network ready by default. It also boasts of a USB 2.0 port mainly for home use. The same USB port doubles up to print and scan directly to USB drives and to Pict Bridge. Automatic duplex printing is also an option on this printer.

The Dell 1235cn printer is available in the market and is estimated to cost around £269. Replacement toner cartridges are expensive at £41 and the throughput is around 1500 monochrome and 1000 colour prints. From the outset, the printer doesn’t look like a cheapie in terms of cost of prints.

    This printer sucks!
It is slow, costly to run, no one has a replacement cartridge for it so you are stuck to Dells 57 dollar price, and it does not get 1500 pages per cartridge. Never again, Also it is 100% plastic and is extremely noisy
