by Abhinav Kaiser on August 18, 2008

In an effort to reach a broader audience, Dell has announced the arrival of three new colour laser printers, 2130cn, 2135cn and 3130cn. The to-be-released printers are targetted at small and large workgroups, offices and businesses. All three models are claimed to be energy efficient, cost effective (in terms of cost per print) and offers high performance.

2130cn is the base model with only colour printing capability. It offers a print speed of up to 16ppm for colour and up to 20ppm for monochrome. The printer can be fitted with additional accessories such as duplexer, 250-sheet paper drawer, network protocol adapter and wireless printer adapter.

2135cn is a multi-function printer with additional scanning, copying and faxing capabilities. It has a printing speed of 12ppm for colour and 16ppm for monochrome prints.

3130cn is a higher end colour laser printer designed for large workgroups. It can offer a print speed of up to 26ppm for color and 31ppm for monochrome. The printer can take up a maximum load up to 70,000 pages per month.

All three announced printers present economical printing packages. The cost per print on the high performance 3130cn printer is estimated at 0.7 pennies per monochrome print and 4.7 pennies for a colour print. The total cost of ownership is estimated to be 22% lower than a competitive offering on 2130cn.

These printers should be available in the market late August.
