Earlier this week, photo printer major Epson announced that a new printer, Stylus Photo PX650, will hit the markets soon. It’s a multi-function photo printer and as most photo printers, is aimed at home users.

The manufacturer claims that the prints from this printer does indeed exceed the quality produced in labs. This is huge statement to make. However, we have not been told about the exact photo resolution this printer can produce. Our best guess would be 2400 X 4800 dpi.

The speed of photo printing as claimed by Epson is a little too adventurous. It states that a 4″ X 6″ borderless photograph will get printed in 12 seconds which is a third of most photo printers in the market would claim. The only way to find out if Epson isn’t bull-crapping is to get our hands on it in due time.

Product Manager at Epson UK, Paolo Marenghi said – “Epson has introduced this new photo printer for those who have a passion for digital photography and want to be involved in the creative process of producing stunning photographs. The PX650 produces high-quality images at fast speeds and is excellent value for money. It’s the perfect partner for the latest D-SLR or compact digital camera.”

All other standard features such as memory card readers, PictBridge, LCD screen (6.3 cm) amongst others are fitted on this Epson Stylus printer.

Epson states that the Stylus Photo PX650 printer will be available at all leading retail stores from the 1st of September and is expected to cost £129.99 inclusive of VAT.
