Epson has expanded its range of professional printers with the addition of Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900. These new Epson inkjet printers are claimed to produce the widest range of colour gamut ever.
These printers leverage upon Epson patented new UltraChrome HDR ink that offers improved colour blends and transitions. There are a total of 11 cartridges present in the system that includes the likes of orange, green and three variants of black cartridges. These Epson ink cartridge capacities vary depending on choice/need at 150ml, 350ml and 700ml.
Maximum printing resolution is 2880 X 1440 dpi with the droplet size as small as 3.5 pico liters.
The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 can handle paper sizes up to 24 inches while 9900 can handle a maximum width of 44 inches. Both the Epson inkjet printers have a straight-through paper path and a rotary cutter that allows for the use of most canvas and fine art papers. Epson claims it can cut the paper at the end of a print within two seconds.
Other features include a 2.5” LCD screen for menu navigation and networking capability with Ethernet connectivity. A USB 2.0 port is also provided additionally.
Both printers are available for purchase in the third/fourth week of November. The Epson Stylus Pro 7900 is estimated to be priced at £2000 while Pro 9900 is estimated to be at £3000.
