Epson Launches PictureMate Dash and Zoom

Epson is all set to launch two compact photo printers which will be in direct competition with leaders Canon. The latest in its kitty is PictureMate Dash and PictureMate Zoom, both termed as fast photo printers. These are dedicated 4” X 6” photo printers which can work with or without the need of a computer.

Dash and Zoom are claimed to be faster than most printers in the market, especially faster than pigment based inkjet printers. They clock at a speed of 37 seconds for a 4” X 6” photo.

Epson also claims that the durability factor is top of the line. They are projected to last for life but realistically Epson states that pictures would last for at least 96 years inside a glass frame and 200 years in an album. They are also smudge, fade, scratch and water resistant.

Both printers have all the regular features that any photo printer would have. They also feature sorting photos and printing by date function which is unique in the industry today. PictureMate Zoom has a CD burning facility which separates it from the rest and puts it right on the throne.

Dash is priced at £50 while the Zoom has a price tag of £100. Prices are reasonable for the set of features for what Epson is offering.
