Epson Stylus NX515 Multi-Function Printer

nx515Epson may not be No.1 brand in inkjet printers, but it surely cuts into a good portion of the market with a combination of good acceptable features and economic pricing. The latter is something HP would love to work upon, but the habit of the beast is getting the better of it. Epson’s Stylus NX515 has an interesting configuration. It is multi-functional with scanning and copying apart from printing. It comes by default with Wi-Fi and Ethernet along with a tilt adjustable LCD screen. All this for under £100 builds a strong case for the printer to be procured.

The four colour individual cartridge option ensures economy with the prints as well. Droplet size of under 2pl ensures good enough prints, but, Canon trumps it with 1pl ink droplets. Print resolution on the NX515 is 5760 x 1440 dpi.

Print speed in draft quality is lightning quick at 36 pages per minute for both monochrome and colour. However, at laser quality, it drops considerably to 15 pages per minute and 9 pages per minute respectively. 4″ x 6″ borderless photographs are ejected within 20 seconds.

Built-in memory card readers and PictBridge port offer PC-less printing. Users have the option of printing, scanning and accesssing memory card slots wirelessly through Wi-Fi.

The Epson Stylus NX515 is a good printer, going by the features alone. If the quality, speed and cost of prints are optimal, there is no speck of a doubt regarding the success variable of this printer.
