Epson Stylus SX515W : Multi-Function Wi-Fi Printer
Epson has launched a new multi-function printer into the market recently in Stylus SX515W. It can scan and copy along with document and photo printing. As Epson puts it – it’s a printer that offers quality, speed and flexibility.
As most of Epson’s printers, this one leverages upon DURABrite Ultra inks that encapsulates the ink particles in a protective resin coating. The output is resistant to water and smudges, and what more, text can be highlighted without any distortion to the printed material. Photo outputs have a life of 200 long years when stored in an album (not exposed to air and moisture).
Printing speed in draft mode is grand at 36 pages per minute for both monochrome and colour. 4″ X 6″ postcard sized photographs take around 20 seconds to print which is three times faster than other printers we have seen in this segment.
SX515W comes with a USB port for hooking onto standalone systems and USB drives to source the prints. It is powered with networking through Ethernet for wired and Wi-Fi for wireless. A PictBridge port is also made available.
A 6.3 cm LCD screen mounted on its top-right side enables users to navigate through the menu and view pictures before printing when used sans PC.
The printer is available at all major retail outlets from the past week and is estimated to cost around £150 inclusive of VAT.
