Feature Rich Photo Printer from Canon : Pixma MP620

Canon’s one of the latest releases in the past quarter includes a photo printer that offers real value for money with a host of features along with lab quality prints. It’s a simple multi-function printer that can scan and copy along with default printing.

The printing engine is powered by Canon patented revolutionary ChromaLife100+ system. The droplet size is as small as 1pl while the best printing resolution stands at 9600 X 2400 dpi.

This Canon inkjet printer utilizes five individual inks; cyan, magenta, yellow, black and photo black. The two black inks ensure that the printer outputs lab quality photos and crisp text during printing of documents.

Printing speed is top notch at 26ppm for monochrome and 17ppm for colour prints. A 4” X 6” photograph is estimated to be print in 41 seconds, faster than most photo printers if the claimed rates are anywhere close to reality.

MP620 offers multiple choices for connectivity; USB for standalone systems and Wi-Fi cum Ethernet for networks. The printer can feed prints from memory card slots, PictBridge and directly from USB drives as well. It is mounted with an impressive 6.2cm TFT display for sans PC operation and menu navigation.

It is expected that a printer with tonnes of features such as this one and particularly from Canon should be an expensive one. Canon has bowled a googly with an economical price tag of £159.
