HP’s reign at the helm of the printer business is only possible due to the continued persistence to deliver high quality and superlative features it offers. The trend continues in the laser segment with the Laserjet CP1515n printer, which is an entry level printer and is targetted at homes and home offices.
This printer is powered by HP patented ColorSphere toner technology which offers nothing less than the best in business. Maximum resolution for both monochrome and colour prints are at 600 X 600 dpi.
It has a 450MHz Motorola processor and comes with a default memory of 96MB that can be upgraded up to 352MB. The printer offers a monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages which is at best decent.
This HP laser printer can handle envelopes, transparencies, labels, plain paper, glossy paper, photo paper, cards and recycled paper. On the downside, the printer carries just one media tray that can hold 150 sheets. The lack of a second tray has the potential to go against it.
Printing speed is average at 12ppm for monochrome prints and 8ppm for colour.
The printer connects to a standalone system through USB and to a network through Ethernet.
CP1515n carries a price tag £140 inclusive of VAT. It’s a little expensive but it’s HP; expected.
