HP’s latest printer in town, HP Officejet 6000 looks more homely than the segment and name suggests. The device is just a printer unlike the trend these days, but is one of the lowest priced printers. Clothed in gray and black, it isn’t elegant by any means and is quite bulky, much to the dislike of consumers.
Printing speeds as claimed are quite fast at 32 pages per minute for monochrome and 31 pages per minute for colour. This is equivalent to most laser printers in the market. In fine mode, the speed dips to 7 pages per minute for both monochrome and colour though.
Some reviewers who have had hands on experience on this printer feel that the quality is impressive from all fronts. Document prints were sharp, precise and well formed. Colours are nicely laid out in vibrant dyes and are accurate.
The HP Officejet 6000 is network ready by default. But, the absence of some key features such as automatic duplex printing, PictBridge port and colour LCD display sounds like death knell to this new HP product.
This printer is priced at £87 and with the kind of features it possesses, the price rather seems bloated compared to its competitors who are ready to offer two printers for the same price.
