HP brought in their successful OfficeJet 8000 Pro printer which was highly successful in the US to UK at the start of September. It’s an inkjet printer that costs less than 100 pounds before applying the taxes and the manufacturer boldly compares it to the likes of laser printers and HP toner cartridges in terms of costs involved.
Print quality offered on black is 1200 X 1200 dpi and 4800 X 1200 dpi for colour. These are state of the art print resolutions in the market today.
Print speeds are grand at 35 pages per minute for monochrome and 34 pages per minute for colour draft quality prints. These are made possible through a 384MHz processor and 32 MB RAM.
The 8000 Pro series comes in two variants, the basic model with network and USB connectivity and the top version with the addition of Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g).
HP makes a strong statement that the cost of prints from this printer is 50% cheaper than its laser counterparts. These are bold claims and surprisingly, many users have confirmed that this indeed is true. Well done HP!
