Large format printers don’t have a wide market like a standard printer. Such printers are usually restricted to offices that plot graphs; create signage, engineering design and architectural renderings etc. Oki will be introducing an affordable large format printer series in June, the C8800 series which should be ideal for many businesses.
Users will be able to print up to 11” X 17” in High Definition colour output. The cost per page is the cheapest when compared to any other large format printers. The C8800 prints 32ppm in black and 26ppm in colour. This printer has an in-built pdf decoder which can print pdf files without the need of applications such as Adobe Acrobat. Other variants in this series are network ready and duplex printers with an additional tray for extra storage of paper. The C8800 has a price tag of £1200 which is a cheap alternative than other printers.
“The C8800 Series is a business ‘game changer’,” said Carl Taylor, Senior Marketing Manager, Color and Mono Printers for Oki Data Americas. “The C8800 creates a new category of affordable, large-format color printers that will change habits by giving customers powerful performance and media versatility on demand, straight from their desktop. And with a footprint up to 47% smaller than comparable tabloid printers, the C8800 will dramatically reduce the cost, complexity and space requirements for large format printing.”
