Lexmark Announces Impact S305
With the recession moving slowly towards a farther horizon, manufacturers are slowly, but surely egging out printers in various segments. After a long lull, Lexmark has launched a new multi-function printer in Impact S305. It can print, scan and copy. It costs around £90 inclusive of VAT.
This thermal printer is built on Vizix printing technology. It can output 2400 X 1200 dpi max resolution in black and 4800 X 1200 dpi in colour. Four individual inkjet cartridges make up the colour band; cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
Print speed in draft mode for black is 33 pages per minute and colour at 30 pages per minute. These are not bad figures at all!
A 2-line gray scale LCD screen is offered to view options in the menu and to view print jobs.
Connection options are attractive with USB 2.0 for individual PCs, PictBridge for compatible digital cameras and Wi-Fi for wire-hassle free networking. The printer also offers a host of memory card readers for sans PC operation.
