Review: Lexmark Launches Lexmark C540 and X540 Colour Laser Printers

Lexmark has announced the arrival of new colour laser printers, C540n, C543dn, C544n, X543dn and X544 models. The C540 series are meant for homes and small offices while the X540 series are designed for small and large enterprises.

The C540 printer series are basic colour laser printers that offer 1200 X 1200 dpi print quality. It features a unique, four-in-one colour laser print head that delivers precise colour registration.

The basic model, C540n prints at a speed of 21 ppm for both colour and monochrome and costs around £175.

The Lexmark C543dn is similar in features to the basic model but additionally includes high-yield toner cartridges and built-in two-sided printing. It costs around £200.

The Lexmark C544n model provides consumers with faster options with print speeds up to 25 ppm for colour and monochrome. It also offers the high yield cartridges. The printer is estimated to cost around £225 in the market.

The new big brother, Lexmark X543dn is multi-function in nature. It packs a punch with its printing, scanning and copying. It prints at a speed of 21 ppm and comes with high-yield toner cartridges. It costs around £300.

The X544 model has the additional capability of faxing along with other multi-function features. It can print at a much higher speed of 25 ppm in both colour and monochrome. A unique feature of this printer is the ability to scan on both sides of a paper. It carries a price tag of £350.

“We are excited to introduce this outstanding new line of compact color products that will help businesses enhance the quality of their professional documents without turning to a more costly print shop,” said Marty Canning, Lexmark vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. “We designed these products with the environment in mind so customers can feel good about reducing their environmental footprint as they decrease costs and increase productivity.”
