Lexmark has introduced a new monochrome laser printer in T656dne, which is perhaps the first of sorts to carry a touchscreen panel. It is targetted at large enterprises and the system is quite adept in handling heavy loads.
The printer delivers 600 X 600 dpi maximum resolution prints which is quite sufficient to bring out professional looking documents with business graphics. Lexmark printer ink for this printer is yet to be announced though.
Print speed is just extra ordinary at 55 pages per minute when printed in draft mode.
The printer comes integrated with a 80 GB hard disk drive to primarily store documents for quicker printing. Examples could be organizational policies, communications amongst other most printed content.
“Our robust, industry-leading solutions, integrated with our reliable, workhorse monochrome workgroup laser device, will enable the new T656dne to provide large workgroups with greater efficiency and productivity day in and day out,” said Marty Canning, Lexmark vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division.
The colour touchscreen LCD screen is pretty big at 7″. It can be used to print pre-loaded forms and documents which are stored on the hard disk, change letterhead templates, change menu language options amongst others.
