For those businesses looking for a monochrome laser printer with low printing costs and high productivity, the answer could lie with Lexmark X646de. It’s a multi-function printer that can scan, copy and fax along with basic printing.
Lexmark touts that the printer is capable of producing documents with a maximum resolution of 600 X 600 dpi and photographs at 2400 X 2400 dpi. I very much doubt that any sane user would actually print photos off of this printer.
Print speed is grand at 38 pages per minute. This is made possible through the 128 MB RAM available by default on the printer. A 50 sheet multipurpose feeder is also included.
This Lexmark printer comes with standard networking capability through Ethernet, and USB 2.0 for standalone systems.
Printer on the shelf is estimated to cost around £820 including VAT and is shipped with a 7000-page Lexmark return program toner cartridge.
Replacement cartridges come in different flavours with yields of 3,500, 9,000 and 15,000 pages.
