New Ultra Mobile Printer from Canon can Hear you Speak

Canon-Selphy-ES40-350

Canon has thought outside the box and have introduced a new feature that none of the other printer manufacturers can boast of. The new Selphy ES40 is capable of taking voice commands from users, and this is exactly what differentiates between the leaders and others.

On the outset, the ES40 is another Selphy printer, smallest of the pack. And, it comes with a handle too. A 3.5″ LCD screen adorns it along with girly cutish navigation buttons placed around the screen.

The printer is capable of printing 4″ X 6″ postcard prints at a speed of 55 seconds. This is not fast by any means, but a good compromise with its miniature size.

Dye sublimation technology powers the printer which in turn requires special ink and paper. Cost politics aren’t too good. Estimating the price of ink and paper, it looks like each postcard print might cost an excess of 20p. Yikes!

The Selphy ES40 printer itself is not a cheapie at £100.
