OKI Corporation of Japan is all set to unveil their latest adventure in the print industry in the west, with the introduction of managed print services. The proposed service will charge a flat rate to customers depending on the term and all the printing costs including toners, cartridges, paper, support will be borne by OKI.
Ironically, the scheme is called Flatrate is promoted by one of the manufacturer’s vendors. It can be purchased with any of the new Oki A4 and A3 colour printers and MFDs, and the offered term is 36 months.
Each contract with an office/enterprise will be made after analysing the printing needs and kind of printing that’s employed. For example, the contract for a graphic design office will be much higher than a bank.
The company claims that companies can achieve a far greater saving by opting for this scheme. In essence, offices and enterprises will not have to break a sweat over the cost of prints and the support contracts.
“Oki will itself be contracted to the end user and will handle consumables and support as required,” the vendor said in a statement.
“Primarily targeted at SMEs with one to five printer units, it offers an average 24 per cent saving compared with traditional purchasing methods.”
